TIME: 11:30AM Saturday Jan. 31st. LOCATION: Atrium Stairs (The big stairs that run through the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors. You can't miss them.) CELL NUMBERS: - Rhyan - (614) 226-7554
- Amara - (937) 645-5897
Official Ohayocon 2009 Schedule! Click to download.I know no one else probably cares, but I prefer people to not know my name at cons. I've had a bad experience with that and lots of shouting. >.> So for anyone who actually addresses me by name, please call me Ohno. Oh and if there are people who will be there Friday and suddenly need a room or anything look for a girl with dark pink hair in a big dress. Trust me, you can't miss it. Anyways, please post with any time conflicts you may have. I will take it into consideration and pick the best time for everyone. The schedule is not up yet, but I will be checking everyday and will post a copy of it here for you guys to download. This way you can check out Saturday and see if there is anything you want to go to. As of right now we will meet at 11:30 and then head back to my room around noon. This way it gives people 30 minutes to figure out where everything is. Feel free to suggest an anime you would like to see. We could always just go to a video room and watch some, of course we can't really talk about it while watching it as other people will be trying to enjoy it. Worst case scenario, you call Rhyan's or my cell. I don't know how long Rhyan has been going to Ohayo, but I've been going since '03 back when it was still at the Hilton. XD I know where everything is. So if you're lost feel free to call me. If everyone wants to meet later than that, we would probably have to do it after 2PM as Ben and I have a CG photoshoot to attend.

Con Advice/Survival Guide- Always leave 30 minutes before you need to get to something if you're in a hotel room.
- People are ass holes and like to break the elevators so unless you're cosplaying, make sure you wear comfortable shoes. You will probably walk at least 10 miles during Saturday alone.
- If want good seats for the Cosplay Contest or another main event, get in line like an hour before it starts. I got in line 2 hours before the contest 3 years ago and I still didn't get to sit in the front. T.T
- Be prepared to wait a long time. Lines don't go fast especially for registration. Which opens up at 9AM on Friday and Saturday.
- Bring extra money. Like hidden and not in your wallet. You may accidentally spend all your money in the Dealer's Room and freak out when you don't have any money to use to eat anymore.
- Carry a bottle of water or something to drink with you. You will get dehydrated easily walking around that much.
- Bathrooms are on the second floor near registration.
- Be nice to the non-con goers. There will be a Cheerleading Convention as well as a Christian Convention there (from what I have heard anyway). I would suggest not talking to them unless they talk to you kind of thing.
- Because of said other conventions, Ohayocon will be using more of the convention center than the Hyatt as a result. Which means more room for panels and such, but I'm not sure where things will be. To get to the convention center facing registration, head straight towards the big glass doors. Then just keep going to the escalators. Once you go down them, main events should be the giant room on the left. I mean there's a huge gap, but the room on the left when you're facing the set of glass doors.
- Bring a camera as you will more than likely want to take pictures of all the cosplays.
- If you decide to buy a weapon you must take it either to your car or to your hotel room. If you don't want to go to your car either let me know and you can store it in my room, or wait until the Dealer's room is about to close and buy it then and take it out to your car.
- For noobs who have never been to a con and decide they want to go to the gamer room, unless you can take really strong B.O. very well, then I suggest you avoid it at all costs. Trust me... T.T
- Please don't forget to eat. It happens to me every year. You get so into the con you forget you have to eat sometimes. If you are afraid you will forget to eat have someone remind you. At least eat something in the morning and something at night.
- Give yourself plenty of time to get to something. Like in you're chilling at the hotel bar and you want to go to something in main events (which is about a 10 minute walk from registration), leave at least 15 minutes before hand. Nothings more embarrassing than opening the door and having everyone stare at you because you couldn't show up when the panel started. >.>
- Watch out for girls hitting on you. They're more than likely under age and either trying to get laid, or trying to get you to buy alcohol for them. I know plenty of girls like this... They can be very pushy.
- If you're cosplaying, people will follow you. Most times it's to catch up with you to take your picture, but if they're been following you for sometime, report them to con security. I've had this happen to me. Turns out they were trying to get a panty shot. I was in an uber short dress. >.<
- This con is huge! It is the 2nd largest convention on the east coast next to Otakon. 2 years ago there were at least 5,000 people on Saturday alone. Prepare for at least that many people if not more accordingly.
- Since it's such a large con, don't block the halls. It's such a pain when a group of people and standing there talking right where you need to go. Especially when you have a 6 foot gun strapped onto your back. >.>
Don't worry I will try and make a map and post it up once the schedule has been posted so everyone can find things easily. I will add more to the list if I think of anything else that is uber important. ^.^ Let me know if you have any questions. ^.^ Feel free to call or text me with your questions as well. I actually recommend that since I'll be away from the computer sewing my buns off. >.<

hmm.. I've been going to Ohayo since 03 as well. It was the last year that Ohayocon was at the hilton in easton!! That was actually my very first convention..! THE GREAT EXPERIENCE OF CRAZINESS AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Ahem.. Great advice Amara! I couldn't post anything better than that. Now for all of you who still need my cell number, it's 614 226 7554. As Amara mentioned, either call her or me if you get lost.. Meeting up at the stairs is a good meet up point as well. It'll be difficult finding tables to fit all of us in the food court, but no worries we'll manage! Forgive me if I'm a bit late on answering your phone, you may hear the ring tone for a good minute before I pick up.. The convention is incredibly loud and even with vibrate on I sometimes don't feel my cell in my pocket. Also, I'll be preoccupied with keeping the ladies away from me hahaha! Just kidding, if It was anything like that I'd probably be running away, since most are underaged girls. But I mean with my zack outfit.. it'll be very hard to resist my awesomeness of epic sexiness win. lol j/k j/k okay I'm getting off track.. Anyways!! call me or Amara if you get lost, although I doubt you will! The convention is big but it doesn't take long to find your way around! If you think Ohayocon is big, go to Otakon in Baltimore, Maryland! Thats the 2nd biggest con in the U.S, besides Anime Expo in California!

Wow, we started going to conventions the same exact time lol. Ohayo '03 was my first con as well. Were you cosplaying then as well? I was the only female Edward from Cowboy Bebop. XD
EDIT: I accidentally posted as hubby-kun lol. You suck Ben for leaving yourself logged in. >.>

All right! Ohayocon has just posted up tentative hours for the con itself. It's not a schedule, but it will give everyone a good idea of when they should get there and when things start up. ^.^
THURSDAY, JAN. 29
Pre-registration pickup: 9pm-11pm
FRIDAY, JAN. 30
Registration: 9 am - 9 pm Panels:12 pm - late night Dealer's Room: 2 pm - 7 pm Artist's Alley: 1 pm - 10 pm Gaming: 12 pm - 2 am
SATURDAY, JAN. 31
Registration: 9 am - 9 pm Panels: 10 am - late night Dealer's Room: 10 am - 6 pm Artist's Alley: 10 am – 10 pm Gaming: 9 am - 2 am
SUNDAY, FEB. 1
Registration: 9 am - 3 pm Panels: 10 am - 5 pm Dealer's Room: 10 am - 3 pm Artist's Alley: 10 am – 4 pm Gaming: 9 am - 5 pm
Remember if you pre-regged you can get into the DR (Dealer's Room) an hour before everyone else. Remember, these times are tentative (especially registration) so don't get upset when something is pushed back by a few hours. I will change the times if they change from now until Thursday night. Also here are the prices for each day.
Friday: $20 Saturday: $30 Sunday: $10 Saturday & Sunday: $40
There are no Friday & Saturday passes this year. I have no idea why they decided to discontinue it. If you want to be there for Friday and Saturday, just buy a weekend pass. You're only out about $5. Con time is getting closer. I will edit my top post when a map and schedule become available. ^.^

The schedule still isn't up, but I have a friend running a couple panels and he let me know of a few things. Since he's not supposed to spread the schedule around. Times are still subject to change, but here are the few events he was able to tell me.
Friday Cosplay Chess: 11:30PM - ?
Saturday Live Action MMO: Noon - 3PM Code Geass Meetup: 5PM - 6:30PM Masquerade Curtain Call & Seating: 6:30PM - 7PM Masquerade/Cosplay Contest: 7PM - 9:30PM
So right now nothing interferes with our gathering for lunch. See most of you this Saturday! ^.^

I wish I could see you guys there, but there's that whole lack of time and money I've got going on...
Still, I hope you all have fun, and I'll see you at the next regular meeting.

The schedule is finally up! I have updated my first post to include the schedule. It is in XLS (Microsoft Excel) format. You will have to scroll through to look at individual days.
Just so everyone knows, when you buy your badge, you will be given a program and a map will either be in the program itself OR included in the things they give you.
Tomorrow is con day, so I won't be on until late Friday. Like 1AM or later. >.> Possibly Saturday morning. If you absolutely need help, feel free to call me or Rhyan. Hope to see most of you there! ^.^

I will be able to make it tomorrow. Ohayocon 2008 was my first convention ever and i went alone; that was not a lot of fun lol. I have a hotel room reserved in columbus, but because all the other hotels nearby were booked I had to make reservations at a hotel a mile away from the convention center. It sucks, but at least it's in downtown. I may or may not be able to meet you at 11:30 because i have to check in just after 11. Hopefully I'll see you there somewhere eventually!

We'll be hanging around the stairs until around noon when we'll head to get food and then back to our hotel room to chill and watch anime and stuff. ^.^
So no worries. There's a 30 minute leeway time.

Sorry I missed you all at the start, I looked around the steps before 12, then at the cafeteria after 12 and couldn't find you. I went back to my room, did some surfing the net expecting to go back, and I've been sick ever since I got into my room
