All of my suggestions are serious! I mean, look at the beauty of Anime Sensational Section, Home Ohio, Liking Excellence! How could you not want that as our name?! ;D
Alright, seriously seriously, my serious suggestions from the above lists are:
Anime Columbus Columbus Anime Appreciation Society Knights of Anime -or- Anime Knights Anime-niacs Columbus Anime Club Anime Hellions
Alternatively, insert "Central Ohio" for "Columbus" wherever appropriate.

I could totally design them, and then buy iron appliques! ^.^ Then make shirts for everyone! ^.^ Well my college's anime club uses this place for shirts that if they buy 30 shirts they get them for about 7 bucks each, judging from the 17 members it says these forums have that could be two shirts for everyone for a cheap price for even just a shirt And after reading through some of these names, I must say I quite enjoy People for the Ethical Treatment of Anime, I even have an awesome logo design or three that just popped into my head based off of the original PETA

So... I take it we're pretty much done with this concept, then?

tCAM has grown on me actually, and I called members of Fantanime, my college's anime club, Fantanimaniacs, and that seems to have caught on even without me there forcing it on people so I don't feel for Anime-niacs...
I would start the meetings with, "Welcome Fantanimaniacs!"

When we restarted the anime club down at Ohio U., we ended up naming it JCON, which is short for Japanese Connection. The intent was to do other Japan-related stuff other than anime, which we never really did, and I never liked the fact that it wasn't readily obvious that the name belonged to an anime club. I always said we should have been called Otakus United, which would have made for a cool horizontal-vertical crossword-style logo with Ohio University going one direction and Otakus United going the other. Oh well, guess that wasn't meant to be. :\
Anyway, maybe we should be called the Big Association of Columbus Anime - BACA. Yeah... that'd totally work. Wouldn't make us look stupid at all. Nope.

Fantanime (my college's anime club) was named as such because they were originally a fantasy/anime group, not so much anymore though... I like the BACA idea though =b
