Those who went to the last meeting (April 18th) you already met my partner and I. We both had a great time at the meeting. For those who haven't met me yet, my name is Bran or Brandon or Abraxys, any of those work fine. I grew up on the classic 80's cross over anime, but not until recently pursued it. I prefer Magic and Fantasy themed anime so far. Most anime I seen has been English dubbed so far, I tend to daze off and daydream while watching it, so subtitles just require alot of concentration. My list of watched Anime is still pretty low, but got a lot of ideas from the meeting. I also recently got into cosplay. I made/put together 2 costumes on my own (Dosu Kinuta from Naruto and Gluttony from FMA) and have 2-3 others I have purchased(Chouji from Naruto, Organization XIII from Kingdom hearts, and the classic Male school uniform). Currently working on a few unique outfits for the Steampunk Genre. I am also into RPG games and MMORPGs. I have and host my own Ultima Online shard when I am not on WoW, Ragnarok, or on my consoles or Ds.

I'm glad you and Mike came out, Brandon! Everyone had a great time, and it feels like you both have already been apart of the group for a while now! =] I hope to see you both again at the next meet up!

We should be at the next one, unless something unfortunate happens. My Tarot cards say I am pretty much in the clear... currently.

I don't think I've seen anime in the fantasy/magic genre. Could you suggest some?

There is always the classic Full Metal Alchemist. If I recall properly you are a war buff and FMA is very much warlike, especially in later parts (don't want to give away too much).
There is also Utawarerumono. Its all about a character named Hakuro and his wise yet reluctant rise to power. Its full of war.
As Rhyan also mentioned and showed, Guin Saga looks to be in the fantasy/magic genre. If I recall properly on this as well, he too is a fantasy/magic/medieval genre buff.

lol - I forgot to mention that my war obsession ended years ago. Sometimes, it is actually a bit much for me now. I prefer stories that are more character driven. I only really enjoy the action scenes if there is something unusual about it - like in the Guin Saga when the tree caught on fire. That was over-the-top!
I'll have to check out the FMA remake. I enjoyed the original, in spite of its melancholy.

The Remake interests me as well. I have not yet had the chance to read the Manga so the English Dubbed version is all I know and love. Especially Cosplaying Gluttony. I can't wait to meet the Voice of Lust at Colossalcon.
I personally pretty bored by War filled movies, coming from a Hippie Alternative family. The movies I listed previously also have alot of other things to add, especially Utawarerumono in ways of Character Growth, the whole story is About Hakuro and how he came to be, if you can stand the ever so popular cliche of Amnesia.
Btw, did you know Magic the gathering has an ONLINE game? If you have a 10th Edition core deck you can play for free. Our interest have been renewed in the game, and I have been practicing. Mike tells me we both favor the same color, Black and Blue.
