I just watched the first episodes of Desert Punk, and it was the most fun I've had in a long time! In the unlikely event that you otaku haven't already seen them, it may be a good pick for one of our meetups.
Also, I'm delighted to find that I have NOT seen season 2 of Genshiken. I'll try to wait for the group to get to them, but it won't be easy..........

Desert Punk you say? I've heard of it, just never had the chance to watch it! I'll try to find the series so I can view it for the meet up.
lol, the group probably won't reach season 2 of Genshiken for a while, so if you want to go ahead and watch the second season. It's good stuff!

There are so many other things to occupy my time on the links you guys gave me...I should be able to restrain myself for a little while :-D Okay, so Desert Punk loses its punch after the first two episodes. Check out the first one "The Demon and the Double D's" here if you want: www.zomganime.com/desert-punk-episode-1/

Haha, yea it does. The way my college's anime club works, is that at the beginning of the school year anime is voted on to be watched at every meeting, and every meeting they watch one episode of each anime unless a lot of the members really dislike the show, and in the 12 years of them being a club, Desert Punk was the first anime to ever get voted off. Everyone was enjoying it so much at first, but then viewers started disappearing and started appearing in the game room instead.

Yeah, normally a show that starts strong stays strong, though it may have a bad ending or kind of an off season. It's unusual to have 2 strong episodes then immediately go to crap. I can't think of any others like that.
